We want to empower everyone to shape the tools that shape their lives.
Humans are toolmakers by nature, but most of us don't have the skills to modify the software that we depend on every day. We run our work and lives across too many apps, and too few of them work the way we wish they did. Notion challenges this status quo by giving everyone the building blocks of productivity — notes, docs, tasks, databases — and the flexibility to combine them in new, creative ways.
We believe that by equipping people with the best tools to solve their own problems, we can tackle the whole world's problems better, together. ✌️

We're a small team based in San Francisco, with a shared passion for design, history, and art. We work out of a sunny converted garage in the Mission that looks a lot like the software we build.

We turned the apartment atop our garage into meeting space, complete with hand-picked furniture (Cesca chair, Aalto stool). We try to immerse ourselves in elegant, timeless tools as we do our best to make them.

Douglas Engelbart is the company's patron saint (yes, we had this portrait commissioned). He's famous for inventing the mouse, but we treasure him for his contribution to interactive computing — as seen in his famed 1968 Mother of All Demos.
We love being surrounded by art. Monitors around the office cycle through our favorite paintings to keep us inspired.
When you work at Notion, socks become the ultimate fashion statement. Pastels were very in that day.
